Korea Imposes 21.62% Provisional Anti-dumping Duty on Chinese Stainless Steel Plates

On January 16th, South Korea's Trade Commission announced a 21.62% provisional anti-dumping duty on stainless steel plates imported from China. This measure comes in response to the influx of low-priced Chinese imports, which have significantly impacted local manufacturers. The duty aims to provide immediate relief to the domestic market while the full anti-dumping investigation continues.

The investigation, which has been ongoing, is expected to reach a final conclusion by June 2025. In the meantime, the provisional duty serves as a protective measure, offering a buffer for the domestic industry against market disruptions caused by underpriced imports.
